Corbett’s published calendar changes on 15 October and 15 November. Find the zone and safari type that fit your date, then verify a live permit before paying for a stay or transfer.
First split your calendar into three windows.
Before 15 October, the reserve lists Jhirna and Dhela as year-round day-visit options.
From 15 October to 14 November, Bijrani joins them on the published day-safari calendar.
From 15 November, the published season also begins for Dhikala canter visits and Durgadevi, Sonanadi and Pakhro day visits.
This is an operating schedule, not a live inventory report. A zone may be listed for the day while its morning or afternoon quota is sold out, and the reserve may issue a fresh operational notice.

The Garjia entry needs a second look. The reserve homepage says “throughout year”; its pricing page says 15 October to 30 June. Treat neither label as a substitute for a date-specific result in the official booking flow.
If your plan depends on Garjia, check its live calendar and contact CTR if the two pages still disagree.
This matters most when a hotel description says “Corbett safari” without a zone or permit. A resort outside the forest is a place to sleep. It is not proof that your chosen forest visit has been booked.
In late October, you can plan around the year-round options and Bijrani if the live portal offers the date and shift you want. If Dhikala is the reason for the trip, move the safari date to 15 November or later, subject to a canter seat or a separately booked forest-rest-house stay. A late-October resort booking cannot turn into a Dhikala visit simply because the national park has other open zones.
For a November departure before the 15th, keep the same October logic. On or after the 15th, the scheduled choice broadens, but so does the importance of choosing the right product. The reserve describes Dhikala day access as a 16-seat shared canter and says it does not sell a regular Dhikala day-jeep permit. A forest stay is another booking path, with its own room and vehicle arrangements. Do not compare a Dhikala canter seat with a private jeep quote as though they buy the same experience.

For a day jeep safari, start at the reserve’s https://corbettgov.org/process page and select the zone, date and morning or afternoon shift. The official guide says a permit is date-wise and zone-wise, a Gypsy is allocated through the system, and guide and driver charges are handled as shown on the permit. Confirm the actual ticket and QR code, not a payment screenshot or a chat promise.
For a Dhikala day visit, choose the canter product. The official guide lists boarding at Ramnagar Corbett Office or Dhangari Gate. The pricing page calls it a shared 16-seat bus and notes that delayed guests cannot make the vehicle wait. That makes your pickup time and hotel position part of the safari decision, not an afterthought.
For a night inside the forest, look at the official forest-rest-house inventory and its separate booking path. It is not interchangeable with an outside resort. The reserve’s notices show a staged 2026–27 release schedule for night stays; a displayed opening window tells you when to try, not that a room remains. Check the permit, room name, date, vehicle and guide terms on the official ticket before paying for connected travel.
Ask for the official permit or ticket showing the correct visitor names, date, zone, shift, safari type, gate or boarding point, and QR or reference number. The reserve’s notice effective 22 September 2026 requires the group leader’s valid ID front and back to be uploaded, other members’ valid ID numbers to be entered, and every member’s original valid ID to be presented at entry. Check each spelling and number before submission. If children are travelling, verify the current seat and age rules for the product you selected.
The reserve’s live site is the authority for availability and booking. Its 2026 notices also warn against sites that imply official status. A third-party itinerary can help coordinate a trip, but it cannot replace the official ticket. Do not assume a “safari included” line means the same zone, shift or permit type you had in mind.
A useful payment sequence is simple: agree on the travel date and safari type; check the official zone and live inventory; review and retain the issued permit; then finalise the hotel, pickup and onward transfer around the reporting location. If you choose a flexible room first, read its cancellation terms and do not call the safari confirmed yet.
Ramnagar is the practical planning hub for most visitors using the reserve’s Ramnagar-side gates. The official schedule names Dhela for Jhirna and Dhela, Amdanda for Bijrani, Durgadevi for Durgadevi, and Dhangari for Dhikala. Sonanadi and Pakhro use gates nearer Kotdwar, which changes the road plan. These gate names matter more than the generic “near Corbett” label on a resort listing.
Ask the property for the road transfer to the exact gate or canter boarding point at the required reporting time, including what happens before breakfast. A room that looks close to Corbett on a booking site may be awkward for an early shift at your confirmed gate. The package cab is a road-transfer vehicle, not automatically the authorised safari vehicle. After the safari, a Nainital transfer is possible, but leave space for the shift to finish, check-out and hill-road travel rather than stacking it with a full lake-town sightseeing day.
LN Tourism’s https://www.lntourism.com/packages/nainital-jim-corbett page is a useful example of a Kathgodam/Haldwani pickup, one Corbett night and two Nainital nights. It marks safari as optional and separately payable unless the quote explicitly includes it. Use that page for the route and stay enquiry after the permit question is resolved, rather than assuming the package already holds a safari seat.
Dussehra falls on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. If your workplace gives that day off and approves Monday, 19 October as leave, Saturday 17 through Tuesday 20 makes four calendar days. That is one leave day, not an automatic four-day public holiday. A direct Corbett stay with one confirmed safari is easier to protect from delays than a crowded two-destination checklist. If you also want Nainital, keep expectations modest and choose the pickup and drop hub before adding lake activities. The broader destination comparison is in LN Tourism’s https://www.lntourism.com/blog/dussehra-weekend-trips-from-delhi-2026 guide.
For a family with children, the early reporting time and original-ID check may matter more than squeezing in another stop. A couple seeking a quiet forest stay might value an unhurried second morning. A wildlife-focused traveller may prefer two permit attempts on different dates, but must book and pay for each real permit separately. None of these choices increases or guarantees the chance of seeing a tiger.

First, change the permit decision, not the wording of the promise. Look for another eligible zone on the same date and decide whether its gate and experience still fit the group. If the zone matters more than the date, move the trip and check the new live inventory. If no suitable permit exists, keep Corbett as a resort and nature break only if everyone accepts that the forest safari is not part of it. A different private operator or an outside-reserve drive must not be described as the booked CTR safari.
Keep the stay refundable or conditional where possible until your priority activity is confirmed. If the reserve changes access because of road, weather or management conditions, follow the latest official notice and the ticket’s terms. Do not replace a cancelled safari with an invented “equivalent” sighting promise.
Write down your travel date, pickup city, group size and whether you want a jeep day safari, Dhikala canter, or a forest stay. Check the official zone calendar and live permit screen. Save the issued ticket and match it to every traveller’s ID. Only then place the hotel and road transfer around the reporting point. That order makes the trip easier to explain, price and adjust.
If you want help with the route, share those details with LN Tourism at +91 88588-73018. Ask for the Corbett-Nainital stay and cab quote separately from any safari charges. The team can plan the route around a confirmed permit; no permit is held merely because you have requested a quote.
Yes, if the chosen zone is operating and an official permit is available for your exact date and shift. The published schedule lists Jhirna, Dhela and, from 15 October, Bijrani; check Garjia live because official pages conflict.
The official calendar lists Dhikala from 15 November, so do not plan an October Dhikala visit on that schedule.
The official reserve says no regular Dhikala day-jeep permit is sold. Day visitors choose the shared canter; a forest-rest-house stay is a separate product.
The official homepage lists 15 October to 30 June. Recheck the latest notice and date-specific permit inventory before paying.
The reserve lists both as year-round day-visit zones. Operating labels do not guarantee a free permit or immunity from a temporary closure.
Two official pages disagree: the homepage calls it year-round, while the pricing page lists 15 October to 30 June. Use the live portal or ask CTR for your intended date.
No. Look for an actual official permit with zone, date, shift and traveller details. A room booking alone does not prove forest entry.
The current notice requires the group leader’s valid ID images, other members’ valid ID numbers and original valid IDs for all members at entry. Check the official instructions again before booking.
Match names and IDs, visit date, zone, shift, product type, boarding or entry point and the official reference or QR code. Check whether vehicle and guide charges remain payable.
Choose another eligible zone if its experience and gate suit you, try a different date, or keep a Corbett stay without promising a safari. Do not substitute an unconfirmed permit.
A focused trip can do so, as LN Tourism’s four-day package illustrates, but one early safari and a road transfer leave limited sightseeing time. Place the transfer after the confirmed shift.
No. A permit buys regulated access to a wildlife landscape, not a particular sighting.
